Target Age Group: Typically 6-12 years old (with proficiency in basic water safety and unassisted swimming 3.5 strokes)

Description: The Bronze group, Level 1, is the foundational entry point for aspiring competitive swimmers. This group focuses on building a strong base in all four competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly) through engaging drills and games. Emphasis is placed on developing proper technique, water comfort, and understanding basic swim team etiquette. Swimmers will improve their endurance for short distances and learn the importance of listening to coaches and being a good teammate. While the focus is on skill acquisition, we also introduce the excitement of friendly competition through in-practice racing and optional swim meets.

Key Focus Areas:

• Stroke Mechanics: Introduction and refinement of basic body position, kick, and arm movements for all four strokes.
• Water Safety & Comfort: Building confidence and proficiency in the water.
• Fundamental Skills: Learning streamline, basic starts (from the wall & block), and beginner turns.
• Endurance: Developing the ability to swim 25-50 yards of each stroke comfortably and 100 Freestyle/IM.
• Teamwork & Fun: Fostering a positive environment and introducing the joy of swimming.
